“Loving Moon” 2010 Program At Thoi Thanh Village – Thanh Phu, Ben Tre Province

With the compassion for poor children, Dale Carnegie Vietnam cooperated with volunteer teams (TNV) Sharing Love, Loving Heart and Dan Xuan Company to organize the program "Loving moon 2010" for poor pupils studying at Thoi Thanh Primary School, Thanh Phu, Ben Tre Province.

At seven o’clock morning at HCMC, 50 volunteers, who mostly are enthusiastic university students, started their journey to Thanh Phu, Ben Tre Province. Reaching the Thoi Thanh Village, Thanh Phu, the groups had to split to get on the bus, then walked into the school.

The present was transported by the truck.

The bridge, 14km away from the school, was too narrow for the coach to pass, the groups had to take bus.

Even though it was raining, a large number of children still attended the event. It had rained until 2PM; hence, outdoor activities flexibly were moved into classrooms, the children still maintained the eagerness to participate in games with encouraging pries; where the games were designed to stimulate their creativity and thinking.

With a wide variety of funky colours, the children passionately expressed their ideas under the guidance of enthusiastic volunteers. The competition was ended with adorable prizes given. At 4:30 PM, the children went home for a break while the volunteer continue to prepare the stage for the night event.

6At 6:30 PM, the schoolyard atmosphere became exciting, the children seated in chairs on the spectator area to watch the performances by the pupils and the drama "Story of Cuoi sitting under the ficus tree" by the volunteers.

At 8 o’clock, the happiest moment, the representative for sponsors made a speech, then gave presents and scholarships to children with difficult circumstances.

The children in turn received Mid-Autumn presents from Dan Xuan company, each present was equivalent to 300,000VND.

Dale Carnegie Representative gave 2 scholarships, each 1 million VND, to two students with difficult circumstances.

The school board gave flowers to the sponsors and organizers.

DThe program was successful regardless of the rain, the groups said goodbye to the children on September 19th, 2010. Such programs for poor children should be pushed forward to bring fun and happiness to children in rural areas as well as to create motivation in learning.
